Ajay Devgn to shoot for a special episode of Into The Wild with Bear Grylls

After Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, actors Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth, now it is actor Ajay Devgn's turn to go on an adventure with Bear Grylls. The Bollywood star will be featuring in an episode of Discovery's popular adventure show Into The Wild hosted by Bear Grylls.

Ajay Devgn will soon film in the Maldives for the episode along with the world-famous adventurer and Survivalist Bear Grylls. Notably, in 2019 Prime Minister Narendra Modi featured in a memorable episode of Man vs Wild. This cult franchise will be premiered first on discovery+ app.

The show has Bear Grylls taking prominent stars on a 48-hour journey where they are faced with difficult situations. They have to push themselves in order to survive. While PM Modi had shot in the Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand for his episode in 2019, Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth had shot in the Bandipur Tiger Reserve in Karnataka last year.

After Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon gifts herself a Mercedes Maybach worth Rs. 2.43 crore

Kriti Sanon who has multiple films in her kitty and is currently basking in the success of her latest release Mimi has gifted herself a swanky car. The actor has now become a proud owner of the Mercedes Maybach GLS 600. The car is valued at Rs. 2.43 crore.

Kriti Sanon was recently spotted in her new car at Maddock films office in Santa Cruz in Mumbai. As per reports, Kriti was on cloud nine after the success of Mimi and wanted to gift herself a brand new car.

Recently, actor Arjun Kapoor also purchased the same car. Earlier this year, actor Ranveer Singh was also seen driving around in the same car which he had purchased this year. The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 is worth Rs. 2.43 crore and is among the luxurious SUVs in the world. This flagship Maybach model was launched earlier this year with only 50 units allocated for 2021.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Kriti Sanon has a slew of films lined up. She recently wrapped up the shoot of Bhediya with Varun Dhawan. She has also completed shooting for Bachchan Pandey with Akshay Kumar and Hum Do Humare Do with Rajkummar Rao. She will also be seen in Adipurush with Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan and Ganapath with Tiger Shroff.

Akshay Kumar starrer BellBottom to release on Amazon Prime Video on this date

Akshay Kumar's latest film BellBottom had become the first film to get a worldwide theatrical release after the devastating second wave of COVID-19 pandemic in India earlier this year. The film directed by Ranjit Tiwari was released in theatres on August 19. The release of the film was limited in India as some of the states in the country have yet not allowed the reopening of theatres.

Now, the makers of Bellbottom have announced the digital release date of the film. Akshay Kumar on Sunday took to his social media to announce that the film will be released on September 16 on Amazon Prime Video, exactly a month after its theatrical release.

The action-packed racy thriller is bound to give nail-biting thrills. Inspired from the real-life hijacking events in the 80’s the story essays the unparalleled courage of the unsung hero known by his code name - BellBottom. Akshay Kumar will be seen donning the hat of this undercover agent on a covert mission to free 210 hostages held by hijackers.

Western Cape MEC: Truck carrying 106 corpses was OVERLOADED

The Western Cape’s Transport and Public Works MEC Daylin Mitchell has confirmed that a truck carrying 106 bodies en route to Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, was overloaded.

The truck was stopped on the N2 near the Somerset Weigh bridge as part of routine control. It was learnt that the corpses were being transported for cremation.

“The officers stopped a truck at the Somerset weighbridge on the N2 in Somerset West on Saturday afternoon. When it was discovered that the truck was overloaded, the driver informed the officers he was transporting dead bodies to the Eastern Cape,” Mitchell said.

Traffic officials immediately closed the area temporarily and handed the site over to law enforcement as well as the local health department, to further look into the matter.

According to IOL, the company that planned the transportation of the bodies said after the inspections, another truck was organised, and both trucks were allowed to continue the journey as all the coffins had the necessary paperwork.

Cremations on the rise

The news outlet has cited the company’s spokesperson Fredelene Knowles as saying that funeral undertakers were forced to transport bodies to Gqeberha because some local crematoriums are closed while others cannot cope with the large volumes.

“Currently, both the Maitland and Durbanville crematoriums cannot take more bodies. Other crematoriums in the province cannot also take any bodies. We are also under pressure from families who want to get ashes at least within a week,” Knowles said.

It is no secret that the COVID-19 pandemic has put a strain on the funeral industry. In Gauteng alone, the third wave has been brutal, with burials and cremations having increased sharply.

“In May, we had 1 920 burials and cremations. This increased to 3 568 burials and cremations in June. July is not over yet and we are already sitting at 3 422. These numbers are staggering … We have already surpassed last year’s figures for July, which is alarming,” Johannesburg City Parks spokesperson Reggie Moloi told GroundUp.

Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra starrer Hit-The First Case begins with a mahurat pooja ceremony

Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra will be sharing screen space for the first time for the film Hit. The film is the official Hindi remake of the Telugu film titled Hit. The mahurat pooja ceremony for the film was held today in the presence of Rajkummar Rao, producer Bhushan Kumar, and director Sailesh Kolanu.

The original film, HIT (Homicide Intervention Team) was also directed by Sailesh Kolanu and features Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma in lead roles. The Hindi remake has been titled Hit- The First Case.

The film's plot focuses on a cop who is tracing a missing woman. Rajkummar Rao will be playing the role of a police officer in the film. In a statement, Rao had said, "It’s an engaging story, relevant in today’s environment. As an actor, I am always on the lookout to play characters I haven’t explored, and HIT gives me a chance to do that. I am looking forward to take this journey with Sailesh and Dil Raju."

HIT is bankrolled by T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar, Dil Raju, Krishan Kumar, and Kuldeep Rathore.
