All eyes on Metsimaholo Local Municipality ahead of local government elections

All eyes are on the trouble-ridden Metsimaholo Local Municipality in the Free State ahead of the local government elections on 1 November.


The municipality, which includes Sasolburg in the northern Free State, has been dogged by political infighting and lapses in governance.


In July 2017, the council was dissolved almost a year after the 2016 local government elections, for failing to pass a budget.


It was controlled by a coalition which included the Metsimaholo Community Association and the Democratic Alliance (DA), supported by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).


Association member of the executive committee, Lennox Mashiya says, “We are forever prepared for whatever may come from the election results. The results will determine as to whether we [are] going to be an outright majority, or we are going into a coalition arrangement.”


Meanwhile, in 2019, long running political battles in the municipality left residents desperately deprived of service delivery.


Political parties unwilling to work together in the local municipality resulted in roads in bad condition, unfinished RDP houses and a R22-million multi-purpose centre that is incomplete.

‘Skeem Saam’ Review: Mapitsi and Tbose are ready to move overseas

The newlyweds, Mapitsi (Mogau Motlhatswi) and Tbose Maputla (Cornet Mamabolo) are back from their honeymoon and are already shaking things up.


Tbose was offered a job overseas and is keen to take up the offer much to the disappointment of his parents.


Mapitsi is supportive of his decision and wants to tag along but Tbose wants her to stay behind.







TBOSE TAKES THE JOB OFFER


Tbose will most likely take the job as this is an opportunity of a lifetime for him.



  • He doesn’t want to take Mapitsi with him because he wants his son to be raised in Turfloop.

  • He will eventually return after he gets tired of being alone in a foreign country.

  • Mapitsi will support whatever decision he makes because she is a loyal wife.

  • She has also learned from Mokgadi (Pebetsi Matlaila) and Leeto’s (Eric Macheru) mistakes.


She proved her loyalty before when she left her internship in Johannesburg and returned home to be with their son.

MAPITSI MOVES OUT


Mogau Motlhatswi hinted in an interview that her relationship with Tbose will face challenges after they get married.



  • She stated that this challenge may cause them to either separate or stay together.

  • Mapitsi will move back to her apartment with Pitsi when Tbose leaves.

  • She doesn’t want to stay with John (Africa Tsoai) and Meikie (Harriet Manamela) who are always arguing in front of her son.

  • Mapitsi is a modern bride who doesn’t believe that a bride should take care of her in-laws to prove that she’s a good wife.


Mapitsi will have a successful career in Turfloop as a journalist as she’s got a good reputation from her blogs.

Woss Wobi, CDQ has a new album on the way, and it’s just around the corner…


Nigerian indigenous hip-hop rapper and songwriter, Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf known by the stage name CDQ is set to drop a new project. The forthcoming body of work, which will be his 3rd (third) studio album is titled “Vibes and Lifestyle“, and it will be dropping this next month, October.


The Nowo Soke singer revealed this news today September 10, 2021, via his Instagram page. He shared;


“My 3rd Official Studio Album titled “VIBES and LIFESTYLE” out this October.


Not been an easy ride, riding solo amidst all turbulences but we getting there fo sure.

According to Brymo, 9 is to celebrate his awesome wife as well as a celebration of their 9th wedding anniversary.


Brymo added that his new album was made possible as a result of the efforts of his close friends and crew. He said;

Brymo Blasts A Troll Who Labeled Him ‘A Rapist’….


The Nigerian Alternative singer, who just released a surprise double album, titled “9“; ‘Esan’ and ‘Harmattan and Winter’ respectively, shared a Tweet praising himself via Twitter, with caption; “The animal! The spirit!!”.


This Tweet was met with a response by a troll who told him to also add the tag “The Rapist” to his list.


Brymo, obviously didn’t let this slide, he replied saying the troll only succeeded in revealing the type of person he is and should do well to report & register himself as a sex offender.


In his words, “You already did, and the tag suits you…and stop projecting your behavior on here, go register yourself as a sex offender… don’t wait till you are nabbed by the law! pls!!”

Simi Replies MC Morris After He Accused Her of Betrayal

Nigerian songstress Simi has reacted after a Canada based comedian, MC Morris accused her of biting his fingers.


On Thursday, MC Morris hopped on IG to recount how Simi betrayed him. According to him, he sacrificed a lot for Simi to attain the fame she’s presently enjoying with no form of payback from Simi.


MC Morris shared not one, but three occasions he had to go out of his way to save Simi from trouble. He recounted how he had to pay #500,000 in 2011 after Simi fucked up at an Akpabio event in Uyo. Also, how he reached out to her in 2016 to perform at his show and her management asked him to pay millions.



He said Simi didn’t do anything, instead she advised him to pay that “it’s management and she cannot override them”. Morris made it clear that he is speaking his mind to see if he can finally forgive and forget everything she did to him.


Reacting to the judgmental comments Netizens have been dropping in relation to MC Morris’ post, Simi took to Instagram to say her piece. She reposted a celebrity’s post and captioned it: “Lol this is why you should never take the internet seriously”.
